First Hawkeye Game for 2011

We got to the tailgate nice and early..well 7:30! Others were there a lot earlier! The rain stayed away till it was time for the game. The girls had a good time. I think Emma ate 20 beef sticks and Gracie tried to eat as much grass as she could! Overall it was a good morning:) There was a short break in the rain so grandma, the girls and myself trek up to Kinnick to see the action. I couldn't believe how much Emma took it all in. She looked so close at the stadium and when the announcer yelled touch down she was listening and had her arms up! She did a little cheering on the walk as well....I O W A.. IOWA..IOWA! Then she started yelling...Hawkeyes are number 1!!! I couldn't stop laughing! What a fan..sure made mom happy! We made it back to the camper...and then the rain set in again! It was worse this time so I got the girls and everything loaded in the van and soon we seen daddy come walking all drenched. We didn't wait around..Vahn got changed and we were on the road! Glad the Hawkeyes got the game in and got the victory..now on to Ames!

Iowa City here we come!!!

Trip to the Mall of America

Uncle Nick flew to MN last Thursday so we made the trip up there to get him. Before we could come home we had to make a couple of stops one at the MOA and one at the outlet at Medford.

Grace is 8 months old!!

Since Grace turned eight months on the 25th of August, she

has started to pull her self up to everything!!!

She will be walking in no time I am afraid of!

Grace is:

Wearing size 4 diapers

Wearing size 12-18 months for clothes

Eating table food

Loving to crawl and gets around every where

Sleeping through the night

She has two teeth working on the 3rd!

A very happy baby that loves her sister dearly!

Visiting great grandma...her b-day was Aug. 28th!
Emma loved riding Emma's car...hard to
believe but she was put it around with her feet!

Grace was pushing herself down the

drive way! Emma was there to save her!

Visiting A Dear Friend

Aug. 22nd we didn't have daycare so Vahn took the morning off, while

I went to work and then I took the afternoon off to watch the girls!

I thought since I had the afternoon off I should take advantage of it.

I wanted to visit Darci and Adelyn before Darci goes back to work.

We had a nice visit. Wish we lived closer so it was easier for us

to meet up! The girls did great. They slept on the way home

and I was able to put them into bed without them waking up!

Grace is enjoying Adelyn's jumperoo!
The girls played well and Adelyn slept the entire time.

Which made for us moms to catch up and visit!

Grace, Darci and Adelyn

Grace loved Adelyn! I can't wait till they can

play together!

Parents night out!

Saturday Aug. 27th Vahn and I had date night with some good friends! After Church we headed to Clear Lake to do some boating. We picked up the pizza and had some drinks while cruising around the lake, looking at the amazing home. ***Dreaming which house we could all get and share*** Grandpa and Grandma Thul had the girls over night. They took them to the annual Hawkeye Tailgating party, held this year at Vernon's. Hard to believe the Hawkeye season starts next weekend! We will be there with the girls and looking forward to it! Now, time to clean, clean and get a few things done before the girls get home! We can't wait to see them!

Iowa State Fair 2011

Emma is helping me feed Gracie so

I can get ready.

Since my work paid for our admission and gave

us money for food and beverage tickets

we headed for DM after Vahn got of work on Saturday.

Vahn had to work till 2 PM which was

a bummer but it all worked out.

We got to DM by 4;30 and the girls had slept on the way

down so they were ready to go when we go there!

Emma is such a great helper!!! I am really

blessed with two wonderful daughters!
Dad pushing the girls. He is not excited to get
his picture taken but the girls enjoying
the great weather!

It was close to 5 and of course Emma was
hungry. Vahn and I got a couple of beers
and we all shared some cheesy fries.

Gracie is even enjoying some fries!

Mom and Emma ready to go down the Giant Slide!

Of course half way up Emma got tired...so I had to

carry her up!

Vahn's pictures he took of Emma and I didn't

turn out so we went down again...then he got busy

talking to a lady and forgot to take the picture:)

So Emma wanted to go down "1" more time.

I told Vahn he needed to go..I got my workout!

As you can see by Emma's face

she loved it!! What a cheap entertainment!

While we were walking they had a parade of Draft horses.

We sat and watched a few. Very pretty horses!

We made sure to go and look at the butter cow..of course the line was

long so we decided to look from aways.

In the same building they had 4H projects.

I could of looked at the plants and flowers all day.

They were so pretty!

Emma was ready for some ice cream

so we got her a milk shake her and her daddy's favorites!

We found out that Gracie loves the milk shake too!

She got pretty pissed with me when I didn't feed her

fast enough!

Emma walking a cow!!

She told us that she wants to do that with Weston and Wyatt some day!

We will see about that! (Vahn would enjoy it..not sure mommy would:)

Emma still working on the milk shake and Greace is now

working on her bottle. She loves having her face covered by

her blanket.

Getting tired!

Getting ready to meet Clifford..the BIG RED DOG!

He is one of Emma's favorites!

I am holding Grace...trying to take a picture while

Vahn is off looking at some outdoor stuff. And my camera

was set for a close up! Oh well. Emma was a little scared she didn't get to

close to Cifford!

We left DM around 8:30 and got home around 11 PM.

We had a nice time..even though we were there for 4 hours it

was long enough for all of us.

The girls did great and enjoyed it too!

We came home to a dark town and house.

Power was off till 1PM...it was out for over 4 hours!
